Producer turned actor Udhayanidhi Stalin has acted in two films as the lead actor and both the films have been successful. A notable aspect is that Udhay was not shown as drinking liquor in both the movies which had 'boozing scenes'.
In Rajesh directed Oru Kal Oru Kannadi the character played by Udhyanidhi will get intoxicated by just smelling the liquor in a comical way. In Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal directed by Prabharakar, which had a 'liquor drinking scene' Udhay was not shown as drinking.
Speaking about this to a leading daily Newspaper, Udhay said it is his decision to not feature as drinking liquor. However he said he will not interfere in the director's freedom by asking him not to have 'drinking' scenes in his films, but will uphold his decision of not drinking on-screen forever.
Asked about the reason he said that since he hails from a respectable family, he does not want to set a bad example by indulging in drinking activity on-screen. It is to be noted that Udhyanidhi Stalin is the grandson of Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi, who has served as the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for five times and the son of M.K.Stalin who is the former Mayor of Chennai.
Udhaynidhi's upcoming film as a hero will be Nanbenda that will have Nayantara pairing up with him for the second time.
